Cartier Paris watch
A Cartier Paris bracelet watch in fourteen-karat yellow gold, hand-wound and dating to 1950. The round case opens onto a silver dial with gilt baton and Arabic numeral markers, its integrated bezel flowing directly into a woven brick-link bracelet. Cartier did not manufacture its own movements in this period, so the watch was cased with an outside caliber from Le Coultre, a common pairing for the house's mid-century pieces. The brick-link bracelet sits close and supple against the wrist, reading as much like a gold bracelet as a watch.
