An oval purple spinel of approximately 3.25 carats centers this estate 14-karat two-tone gold band ring, framed by a halo of small round diamonds. Pavé diamond clusters spread down each shoulder in a floral pattern, each cluster built around a larger round brilliant. Spinel spent centuries mistaken for ruby, and several stones in historic crown jewels were identified correctly only much later. The band sits wide and flat across the finger, and the raised center gives the ring the profile of a statement piece.
